A Sweet Homecoming

A year ago today
My Sweet Mom went to Heaven.
Her favorite place on this earth
was at the beach.
Do you think there are beaches in Heaven?
If there are, I know that's where she will want to be.
She told my sister's pastor that she doesn't
need a mansion in Heaven,
but would love a little cottage by the sea.

Tonight at 5:05
we let go of 6 balloons representing our family.
One was for Junie the Wonder Dog,
because Mom Loved Junie.
And, Junie Loved Mom.

I attached a little note on mine.

"There are many rooms in My Father's house.
If it were not so, I would have told you.
I am going away to make a place for you.
After I go and make a place for you,
I will come back and take you with Me.
Then you may be where I am."
John 14:2-3

i can't believe its been a year already, joyce. sending lots of special thoughts your way. love the idea of releasing six balloons, with the 'thank you for being so lovely' quote. your mom sounds like she was such a special lady.

Blessings to you and I wish you joy, knowing that she may be absent from the body but she is present with the Lord. We rejoice in that we will see our love ones again and then every tear will be wiped away.
I can't believe that it has been a year already since you walked through the valley of the shadow of death. But today you are in the light and I praise Jesus for it.
I am sending a hug from me to you.

My prayers to you and your family. I am coming up on the 1st anniversary of my favorite Aunt's passing as well. My blog is dedicated and started as part of my grief process. I know that it's difficult but have great comfort in knowing that she is in heaven now and living in peace as she watches over all of her loved ones and she lives on in each and everyone of you.
Blessings, Lakeesha@Connie's Purse

Sending those balloons is such a sweet way to celebrate your moms life.... In heaven surely there is a beautiful beach for her to visit...she will walk there on the streets of gold!
Beautiful tribute!

Oh sweetheart. I lost my mother a year ago as well. I don't know why but now her absence is a little harder to take than it was right after she died. Glad you did something to remember her. It has inspired me to do something for her next year. A big hug to you.

I am so sorry for your loss. She looks like she was such a precious lady and must have been, because from the looks of your blog, she left a beautiful legacy with her children.

I want you to know that I am enjoying your blog so much! I am new to blogging, and so glad that I found you! I ended up reading some of it to my girls yesterday as I looked around. They had fun guessing who some of the quotes were from. Prayerfully yours in this difficult time.
Your button is such a pretty little thing (I took it with me), and so is your blog.
