You have to go to them sometimes."

Home is a place...

"Home is a place
 you grow up
 wanting to leave,
and grow old wanting
to get back to."
John Pearce
How true is this statement?
I no longer have my childhood home
to go back to.
It is still there,
stilled owed by the family,
but no one lives there.
To even think about that house
makes me so sad.
Sometimes in our lives
we don't realize that the last time
is the last time.
I don't remember the last time that
I was at my parents house
before my Mom became so sick,
and then my dad...

I feel an Extra Blessing that I
have my sister's home to go to.
Her wonderful, charming,
warm and loving home
fills that void of a lost
childhood home.
I LOVE to visit her.
I walk in her back door and
all the troubles of the world
melt away, replaced with
So Much Fun
So Much Laughter!
It Fills Me Up!

I am here right now,
filling up with some
Love From Childhood.
(Miss Sherrie taking "lovely" picture of me.)
All of the pics on here are of
Sherrie's wonderful home.
Visit her at
A Ruffled Nest
Also, I am linking up with
A Beach Cottage
Good Life Wednesdays
Go and take a look!
Have a wonderful, summery week!

How wonderful for you to have such a special bond. I have one brother, my parents are divorced and I've been living abroad for 16 years so I sorta feel like home is just where I am at the moment. Home is in the heart! Enjoy your time and have a great day. Tammy

So very hard, I am so sorry. My sister moved into my Mom's house and I am so thankful that it isn't empty and then my grandparents home, by brother moved in with his family but when my grandparents house was empty it was like I couldn't move on in life.
Houses do hold on to life sometimes and when they are empty it hurts so much.

This is a sweet post today Joyce! I just spent time at my parents house with my sisters (is there anything better?) and even though my parents had just moved ... they had the same "things", you know? My mom has kept so many treasures on her shelves and walls that remind me of my childhood. I made a comment to her about that too - it makes you feel "home" even though it isn't that house you grew up in!

I saw you blog on Ashleys, A Schott of Class. I'm Matt's Aunt. I really like the pink background, and all your creative pretty ideas. I have three kids too, now grown, and I enjoy creating. My daughter especially loves creating as she has a degree in Interior Design. I really liked what your "About Me" says about God. I am close to God, and I have been since I was a little girl. Me and my daughters just started a Blog, and we would love it if you could visit us and follow. The link is: http://redrosealley.blogspot.com We recently did a post about "Home Treasures," and it will give you a chance to get to know us a little better. Hope to hear from you, and have a sweet day.
