Friday Pretties...Remembering With Thankfulness

This Thanksgiving is a day of
Thankfulness & Remebering

April 11, 1936-September 22,2010

My Mom died on September 22.

Today we will

Miss Her,
Cry for Her,
Laugh at stories about Her,
Tell the things that we love most about Her,
We will spend our day feeling her
presence still with us in our
Hearts & Memories

But, not with out each one of us
feeling an empty spot in our hearts
without Her.

We have had many, many
Thanksgivings together.
Starting with Grandma's house,
from the time we were babies.
To many, many years at Mom's,
and the last several at my house.

A lifetime of wonderful and warm memories.

Tomorrow Sherrie,
her mother-in-law, Judy,
and I will go on our
annual shopping outing.
We have several of our
favorite shops that we
always visit,
and then go out for lunch.

I'm so sad that my Mom
won't be with us this year,
but I am SO thankful for
the years and years of memories
that we can look back on.

What A Blessing!!!

We love and miss you, Mom...

It Only Took Me Seven Months...

This was quite the project for me.
This is the
Amy Butler Field Bag & Tote

I started this project in March!
is the is the Pre-Frustrated post.

Now, before I go any further-
I do want to say this-

I LOVE AMY BUTLER!

O.K-
Now, you can read on.

I started out making the Field Bag,
but after some serious frustration
with the whole zipper "situation"
I gave up.

Yes,
I gave up-

I KNOW!!!

It is not often that
I give up on a sewing project.
I usually try to plow ahead
and work through it,
but this one did me in.

So,
Instead of a Field Bag with a zipper,
I have a lovely and
Much Much Less Frustrating,
Field Tote.

HAPPY!!!

Eat Sleep Sew...A Perfect Friday Pretties Day

Happy, Happy
Friday Pretties!

A couple of weeks ago I was asked to make
an apron for a birthday gift.

This was a gift for a young mom of
three beautiful little girls.

After the Birthday Girl

had received the apron

she
told me that

everything

feels like more
fun

with

an apron on.
I agree!

I love to sew for people that I know
because as I sew, I pray for that person
and her family.

Prayers are sewn into these seams.

As I have said before,
sewing is a great
stress reliever for me.

The only problem is that
I have a surplus of aprons
in my sewing room.
Ha Ha

But, I can't stop myself

All of the colors and patterns
call my name!!!

It's too much to resist...

Pleats, Ruffles

Long ties...
I love them all.
I hope that all of you have a
Happy & Pretty
Friday.

Don't miss all of the Pretties.
The Friday Pretties Link
is on my sidebar.

A Message Too Young Parents. Grandparents, you already know this.

The days are long...
But, the years are short.

This is my middle son, who is now 18 years old.
When my kids were little
some of the days were long...
But, the years have been very, very short.

This is a passage from the book

"Home Safe"

By: Elizabeth Berg

The mom, Helen is remembering back to when her now, 20 something daughter, was little.

" It brought back to Helen one of her favorite memories of Tessa as a little girl. The summer her daughter turned four, she played exclusively with boys, although she did, in a nod toward femininity, wear her pink tutu every single day.

One afternoon that summer, she came banging in the front door, a line of three little boys behind her. Beneath her tutu she wore blue jeans and on of Dan's T-shirts. Naturally, it swam on her, but Tessa loved wearing her father's T-shirts because, as she once told Helen, they left room for things. "What things?" Helen asked, and Tessa whispered, "You can't see them."

On that day Tessa's feet were bare and muddy, and strands of hair, escaped from the ponytail she'd insisted on making herself, hung in her face. She carried a long stick under her arm and used it to point to a blueberry pie Helen had make earlier that morning and now was cooling on top of the stove. "That's what we're having for dinner," she announced, and the boys stared wordlessly, admiringly, really Helen thought.

Then Tessa slapped the stick against her thigh as though she were General Patton with his riding crop and said,"Let's go!" and they all filed back outside. Immediately afterward, Helen heard Tessa yell, "Mom! Mom! Hey, Mom!" When Helen came to the door, she said, "Do you want to play with us?" Helen smiled and declined, even though she wanted nothing more than to abandon her housework and go outside with that group of free little beings. She regrets to this day the fact that she didn't do it.

Tea Time

Yesterday morning,
I was off and running early.
This morning,
I have time for some tea
and blogging.

My friend, Rebekah, is my
Tea Drinking Buddy.

She gave me this pretty little
tea cup that has a pocket
on the side for the tea bag.

I hope that each and
everyone of you
have a few minutes for
a cup of tea and
and a little time for yourself
this morning!
Have a wonderful day!!!
I just put up a fresh link for Friday Pretties.
:)
