Friday Pretties- Copy Cat

"Imitation is the most
sincere form of flattery"

Right?

I saw this print on
Koralee's blog,
And, I just had to have it!!!

As most of you already know,
Koralee has an amazing blog!
One of my favs...

And, She's Famous!!!

I had read that she was featured in
Artful Blogger
and
Where Women Create
I searched and search for these two books and
Could Not find them anywhere!!!

Guess what my amazing sister got me for my birthday?
You guessed it- Both of them!

Look at the adorable knit garland
she bought for me too!
I had admired them last time
we went shopping.
She remembered...
:)
She got me a couple of
other sister items too.
We always buy each other socks
for birthdays and Christmas,
and often a cardigan sweater.
She did all of that,
I just don't have pictures...

Love you Sher Bear!!!

Mom's Homecoming

On Wednesday, September 22,
my precious Mom went home
to her Heavenly Father.
We are mourning the loss of her here on earth,
but celebrating her joyful entrance into Heaven!

(My Mom on the left, Uncle Tom peeking though his sisters,
and Aunt Joyce n the right.)

I know that her Mom, Sister, Brother and Dad
were there to greet her with Great Enthusiasm!!!
What an amazing reunion!
Pure Joy

She was a wonderful and very loving Mom.
She will be greatly missed!
I Love You Mom!!!

Mom's Quilt

I made this quilt for my Mom.
I had ordered the fabric a while ago,
you can read about that Here,
and was slowly working on it.

As soon as I knew that my Mom
was going to be moved to this
beautiful Hospice residence,
I started working very hard on it.

When I ordered the rose fabric
I had no idea that her home someday
would be Rose Arbor,
but God did.

I really, really wanted to surprise her with it
when she arrived in her room.

I felt so much joy when she opened the box.
Her joy and delight made me happier
than I could imagine!

It has not left her bed!
A friend of mine, who went to visit her,
suggested that she lay it so that
she can read the verses.
It has stayed that way.
:)

My mom's sister, my Aunt Joyce, whom I am proudly named after, died 20 years ago, and our unique and wonderful Grandma died about 30 years ago.

Both of these wonderful women were strong Christians
and we know where they are right now.
Oh Their Joy!!!

Aunt Joyce's daughter, Becky, a sister-like cousin,
wrote this message to me and I have to share it!
It brings tears of joy to my eyes every time that I read it-

"I am praying specifically for the people your mom will meet in her new home ... that there will be some Divine Appointments to encourage her, strengthen her, inspire her, and give her hope. I cannot help but imagine that there are literal angels walking those halls. I pray that peace will overwhelm her.

I have also wondered if her precious mother and sister might feel a sense of ..... anticipation. It is food for thought, isn't it?? Our minds cannot comprehend. But, oh, how Sweet are the Promises of Heaven!!"

We, as humans, look at things from our human, earthly eyes, but this is a moment to ponder, and to consider the eternal value of these last months, weeks or even days of my mom's life.

Thank you for your prayers!
Love you all,
Joyce

My Mom's New Home

As some of you know, who follow my blog, I have stopped blogging as much as usual, or visiting other wonderful bloggers
for the last couple of weeks.

In May of 2009 my precious Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer. She had surgery and some chemo, but she can no longer fight this hideous disease.

She lived with us from March until June,
went home for a bit, and is now, as of two weeks ago,
at a beautiful Hospice residence,
that is only about 10 minutes from me.

I am so grateful!
God's mercy and provision have been miraculous!

Here are a few pictures of this beautiful facility-

Tonight my pastor came to visit.
He talked about the divine appointment
that we will all have, eventually, with Jesus.
Psalm 139, my very favorite Psalm,
says in verse 16-

"All the days ordained for me
were written in Your book
before one of them came to be."

He knew each one of us before
we were even conceived,
and He knows the moment that
He will escort us to Heaven.

What a day that will be!

John 3:16 says-

"For God so loved the world
that he gave
His one and only Son,
that whoever believes in Him
shall not perish
but have eternal life."

Can you even imagine such love?!?

Forgiveness

" A man's understanding makes him slow to anger.
It is to his honor to
forgive and forget
a wrong done to him"

J.Crew / Hippie Wedding Part II The Reception

Rebekah & Scott's
Reception

There were pictures of Scott and Rebekah on each table.
Everyone wrote to the happy couple on the background paper.
All of the pictures will be put into an album,
and that is their guest book.
How great is that idea?

Rebekah doesn't love cake,
but Rebekah LOVES pie.
So, they had pie.

Lots and lots of pie!
Yum Yum

Rebekah's Aunt Beth was the best pie server ever!
Yes,
And Uncle Dan-
A great support man.

To find out what table you were at,
you found your little jar of honey.

The Carson's, which you can read about.
provided the honey for this sweet wedding.

Look at these wonderful appetizers-

This is the Bridal Table
