Some of you who don't know me or my family may be wondering what the top half of my fabulous, favorite sister looks like. (O.K., she is my only sister, but still my favorite!) I am on the left, my hubby, we will call him Big Bear Jer, and Little Sis on the right. I love them both Soooooo Much. And, once again- Aren't they cute?
I LOVE aprons! I love to wear them, and I love to make them. I made quite a few of them this Christmas season because my cousin Becky asked me to make each one of her sisters. Then, one of her sisters asked me to make some for her girls. What FUN! They both allowed me to pick out the fabric, which is stressful, but because I know each one of them, it was fun too. As I cut, and stitched, and tore out, and stitched again, I would pray for the specific person that I was making the apron for. During those hours I went back in time with each of my cousins. I have such wonderful memories with each one of them. I so loved their mom, my Aunt Joyce, who I am named after. I loved their big'ol house, which was full of life and laughter. I loved being with them.
This little room is my quiet sanctuary. I painted it a bright and cheery green, and put all of my girlie things inside. I can go into that room, put an audio book in my little cd player and start sewing. I love it in there. The only problem is that sometimes I go in, start a project, and lose all track of time. Maybe not wise, but worth it!
"The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil; and he goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and grows- how, he himself does not know." Mark 4:26-27
I took this picture on December 1st, in Michigan! How amazing is that? The next week that step was covered completely with snow. I love the tenacity of seeds. On our journey's we drop seeds accidentally, or we sow seed purposefully, or we think we are doing nothing at all. But, we are. We are casting seeds with our words, with our actions, and with the examples of our lives. I cannot do everything perfectly, but I believe that this is a good thought for me to keep in my thoughts and prayers.
Here I am in Blog World. Only one other person knows this, or cares, but here I am, and I am ready to start this new journey. We all just take one step after another, sometimes you have to step backwards or sideways, but you never stop moving because, joyfully, that is what life is. I don't know what this year will hold, but this is a spot where some of it will be recorded. So, here I am, beginning this new journey, and we will see what God has planned.
