You have to go to them sometimes."

Happy New Years & Happy Friday Pretties!!!

Happy, Happy
I thank God for every year of my life.
I am grateful for every Breath.
Every Day.
Every Moment.
Every Year is a Gift
unique gift wrap
But, I am also happy to ring in a new year.

(My Mom, at my house last year, celebrating the New Year)
2010 was hard.
There were many memories made,
most of them bitter-sweet.
But, I am grateful for the sweet times,
and for the hard times
because, that is what strengthens
each one of us.

My life is blessed.
God has given me an amazing family,
along with amazing sister-like friends.
Most of all, He has given me
His promise of
Eternal Life.
I WILL be with my Mom again,
and next time we are together
we will never have to say good-bye.

Who could ask for more?

It has almost been a year since
I started this blog.
A Lot has happened.

I wonder what this year hold?
I think that it is best that we don't know.
It's the Journey...
And, I'm excited to see what is next.

Have a wonderful, Joy-Filled
Safe and Fun
New Year's Eve.
And, the Best Year Ever in

Much Love & Many Prayers!!!

Creative Juices...

I really need to get my
creative juices  flowing.
It is time to start sewing again.
I want to go  into my little
with a great audio book
and get lost...

Here is a project that I would love to try.
I bought these embellished tea towels,
that have a fabric bag to match,
at a flea market.
I think that I can copy this pretty closely.
They will make great gifts.
I will let you know how they turn out...

If you don't hear from me,
you can pretty much assume
that the end product wasn't so good.
But, I really, really think I can...
 I think I can... I think I can...
Have a Wonderful & Creative Day!!!

I Can Only Imagine...

Merry, Merry
This is a message that my cousin sent me yesterday.
It touched my heart so deeply that
I wanted to share it with all of you.

I am thinking about you this week. I am sure it is a very bittersweet time for you. I pray for God's peace to abound in your heart during this Christmastime. I also pray that you feel the presence of your mom around you. She will get to actually attend Jesus' birthday party this year and will watch him blow out the 2,000+ candles....am guessing His Light will shine so brightly that candles really aren't needed. Her voice will join the saints and angel choir as they sing praises to Him. I'll bet the sound is beyond our imagination.

Love you, Sweet Cousin!!!

What to do with Vintage Scraps...? Make an angel.

My Friend, Renee,
hosts a beautiful, annual
 Christmas Brunch
in her home every year.
Not only does she serve the
most amazing food imaginable,
but she also always has a
little hand-made trinket
for each of us.

How sweet is this
little vintage angel?
Thank you Renee!

Heart Melting...

Children's books make me Happy!
Especially books with a sweet, heart-felt,
warm, mushy story of friendship.
Here are  two children's Christmas books
that make me smile.
And, those illustrations...
They make me melt!!!

My mom would read to us for
 endless hours.
I wonder if that's why
I love books so much?

Do you have a children's book that
make your heart melt?
Please share...

"Dogs are wiser than men.
They do not set great store upon things.
They do not waste their days
 hoarding property.
They do not ruin their sleep
worrying about how to keep
the objects they have,
and to obtain  the objects they haven't."
-Eugene O'Neil

Becky from
Farm Girl Paints
wrote a post on her blog
this spring on contentment.
I asked her if I could share it with you.
She said Yes.
Here is a little bit from that post...

* Never allow yourself to complain about anything - not even the weather.
* Never picture yourself in any other circumstances or someplace else.
* Never compare your lot with another's.
* Never allow yourself to wish this or that had been otherwise.
* Never dwell on tomorrow - remember that [tomorrow] is God's, not ours.

It says in  fourth chapter of Philippians-
Look at the birds of the air,
for they neither sow nor reap
nor gather into their barns;
yet your Heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not of more value than they?

Which of you by worrying
can add one cubit to his stature?

Consider the lilies of the field
how they grow;
They neither toil nor spin;
and yet I say to you that even
Solomon in all his glory
was not arrayed like one of these."

Seek ye first the kingdom of God
and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added unto you.
