It Only Took Me Seven Months...

This was quite the project for me.
This is the
Amy Butler Field Bag & Tote

I started this project in March!
is the is the Pre-Frustrated post.

Now, before I go any further-
I do want to say this-

Now, you can read on.

I started out making the Field Bag,
but after some serious frustration
with the whole zipper "situation"
I gave up.

I gave up-

It is not often that
I give up on a sewing project.
I usually try to plow ahead
and work through it,
but this one did me in.

Instead of a Field Bag with a zipper,
I have a lovely and
Much Much Less Frustrating,
Field Tote.

Another incredible combination of fabrics. I love love love this! You have a gift! Who needs a zipper, anyway?

Your bag is beautiful! I bought this pattern last year and looked online at some reviews and there were a couple that said the zipper was almost if not impossible. One lady was making two and the second was sans zipper she said it was nearly impossible to do the first one and never again......so I got scared and put this pattern up in the closet. I will probably do like you did and make a field tote! Lovely bag!

I wouldn't even attempt it ... I could tell by looking at the piping, it would be more than I could handle! But GOOD FOR YOU for getting it done, zipper or not - it is ADORABLE!!!

It's a beauty and in the end, it was all worth it (I keep telling myself that). Now we just need to have a reason to use it! :)

It is SO PRETTY! I have an expensive designer purse with a zipper that I never zip. It's always open. It's a pain in the neck to always be zipping and unzipping every time I need my sunglasses or keys, etc. I think you made a wise choice.

Wow, what a pretty tote! I'm impressed that you came back to it. Once I'm frustrated, I rarely find my way back to a project.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Kudos to you on a job well done! The joy of a project can be evaporated when it takes longer than anticipated, but you persevered and now you have quite the lovely handbag! Yay!
