My Mom's New Home

As some of you know, who follow my blog, I have stopped blogging as much as usual, or visiting other wonderful bloggers
for the last couple of weeks.

In May of 2009 my precious Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer. She had surgery and some chemo, but she can no longer fight this hideous disease.

She lived with us from March until June,
went home for a bit, and is now, as of two weeks ago,
at a beautiful Hospice residence,
that is only about 10 minutes from me.

I am so grateful!
God's mercy and provision have been miraculous!

Here are a few pictures of this beautiful facility-

Tonight my pastor came to visit.
He talked about the divine appointment
that we will all have, eventually, with Jesus.
Psalm 139, my very favorite Psalm,
says in verse 16-

"All the days ordained for me
were written in Your book
before one of them came to be."

He knew each one of us before
we were even conceived,
and He knows the moment that
He will escort us to Heaven.

What a day that will be!

John 3:16 says-

"For God so loved the world
that he gave
His one and only Son,
that whoever believes in Him
shall not perish
but have eternal life."

Can you even imagine such love?!?

Dear Joyce, I will continue to pray for you, and your family, my Mom died of the same cancer last December.
I think the place that you have your Mom is just beautiful.
We don't sorrow the way other people do because of that hope, which is Jesus.
I am sending you a huge hug O

Oh, Joyce- I will be praying for you and your family during this time- I lost my precious Mother in 2005 and although I know her earthly suffering is over- I still miss her so....
That is a very beautiful place- I love the bird- is it an oriole?
Thanks for sharing the scripture verses- isn't it wonderful to have those words to bring us comfort during these times!

Last year my Dad died shortly after surgery for bladder cancer.
I'm sorry your famiy has to go through this. I am grateful, however, that you know Jesus and that he will be your comfort and strength now and forevermore. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Joyce, what a
difficult time
for you, but what
a blessing that
your mom is snug
is this beautiful
place. I just got
home last night from
a trip to see one of
my best friends who
is battling breast
cancer. Life throws
us curves. I love
the passages that
your pastor quoted.
May you find strength,
peace and love in
all the days that lie
Big hugs,
xx Suzanne

I just posted about my mom today- I lost her to ovarian cancer in December. I know it's so hard right now for all of you. My mom spent her last days at a similar place called "Grace Home". It brings much peace to a very difficult time. Know that we are praying for you.
