My Sister

Now I can write about something
that has been heavy on my heart and in my life.
It is about my wonderful sister, and best friend,

I was waiting until she was ready
to share her news before I wrote about it.

It is about a phone call that changed everything.
Her whole world changed and
the worlds of all of the many, many people
who love her so dearly!

To read about her story you can go to
her Blog or to Here.

So, Sherrie and I both decided that this
part of our lives couldn't be hidden.

We can't pretend,
out there in Blogland,
that all is well,
But, we also want a place
to have some light-hearted fun.

There it is.

Please just pray!!!
I Love Her Sooooo Much!!!

Her Caring Bridge site is Amazing and FULL of Hope!
Go check it out!!!

Also, Some of you know that
my Mom is living with my family.
She is Hospice.

I can honestly say that I
That ugly "C" word!

Please keep our family in your prayers.
And, please let me know how I can pray for you...

Oh you are in my prayers as well as your sister! Just having you around I know will make this whole ordeal just a bit more manageable for her! You're a GOOD sister!

Oh Joyce, life can be so cruel. I'm so sorry to hear your sister isn't well - I'll cross everything and pray for her.

If us bloggy folk can do anything to help cheer her (or you!) up, let us know - I bet loads of people would be up for sending her little handmade gifts or cards to help her through the chemo, L xox

PS Thoughts are with you x

Hi, Joyce! This reminds me of the Morton Salt girl who says "When it rains, it pours"!

I pray for you and think of you ALL multiple times a day.

"The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms..." Deuteronomy 33:27

Hang in there, sweetie! You're doing GREAT! So proud of the ROCK you are being for your favorite girls! Much Love! xoxo

If this is not a place where tears are understood,
Then where shall I go to cry?
And if this is not a place
Where my spirit can take wings,
Then where shall I go to fly?

I don't need another place
For trying to impress you with
Just how good and virtuous I am.
No ... I don't need another place
For always being on top of things.
Everybody knows that it's a sham.
I don't need another place
For always wearing smiles,
Even when it's not the way I feel.
I don't need another place
To mouth the same old platitudes,
Everybody knows that it's not real.

So, if this is not a place
Where my questions can be asked,
Then where shall I go to seek?
And if this is not a place
Where my heart cry can be heard,
Where ...
Tell me where shall I go to speak.

So, if this is not a place
Where tears are understood.
Where shall I go ...
Where shall I go to fly?

Dear, dear Joyce ...

I just left you the words to a song that was so meaningful to me many years ago during a difficult time. I am so sorry for this very painful thing that Sherrie is enduring. One of my sisters was diagnosed with breast cancer almost two years ago. She finished treatment last July and is doing well, although the "C" word leaves internal scars that others don't always see. Your family has my most earnest and tender thoughts and prayers. I have signed up to follow Sherrie's Caring Bridge site. It seems like only yesterday that I was following my sister's site. It was a happy day when she could close her Caring Bridge journal. Looking forward to the day when Sherrie can do that, too.
