Keeping Me On My Toes...

Here's my theory-

and I and sure that 

many of you bloggers will agree,

No matter what age we are

 or what stage we are in

we have to keep learning new skills.

Learning will keep us young 

and on our toes.

So, at the end of this month I am

going to take a cake decorating class,

 a photography class,

and a computer class.

All of the classes are beginner 101 classes.

I am going to start at the beginning

 and slowly make my way.

I'm excited to learn some new skills.

Should be fun!

Quite Loudness

Well...
My week "Unplugged" is over.
Wow, was that was hard!

There are always great
lessons in stopping the noise
and just listening to the quiet.

I realized that all that quiet,

without the mind numbing

distractions that I have put

in my daily life, is so loud!

So, I hope that I can add a little

bit back in without ending up

where I was.  :)

We will see...

There are far, far better things ahead
than any we leave behind.

Hello Friends!

I have been trying to challenge myself

this year with all kinds of new things.

 I have changed my eating and exercise habits 

to try to become more healthy.

It has felt great!

 I have joined a Bible study again,

which has been wonderful!

 And, I have begun to work on some

 projects around my house.

All of these challenges are a

work in progress, and are not always

easy, but I am enjoying them.

 My next challenge,

 and probably the hardest for me,

is to be "Unplugged" for a whole week.

No emails, blogging, facebook,

pinterst (my newest obsession) 

and no TV.

Please say a prayer for me.  :)

Here is what I am going to try to 

meditate on instead-

 Projects Are Fun!

 My sister, Sherrie from A Ruffled Nest, 

is becoming an expert at furniture painting.

She has discovered,

 through Carter's Cottage,
where she sells her beautiful things,

Annie Sloan's paint.

 It is chalk paint.

Avid painters love it.

So...I decided to try it.

I love it too!

It is fun to work with and 

I love all of the colors that are available.

This pure white is definitely a pure white,

which I Love!
This bookshelf was dark red.
It did take three coats.
Next time I would prime it first.
